Weight Loss Plateaus

Does your weight seem to trend higher? Sorry for the childish graph but I scribbled it in about 5 minutes and by the end of this email you will get the point. The bottom of the graph represents multiple years of your life. The main black line is your weight. The top of each hill is that moment when you are pissed off and motivated to lose weight…you get on some program and you just turn it on. You drop a bunch of weight then………..it just freaking stops…..you keep trying…you go a little harder, you cut carbs, sugars, calories a little more…the weight kind of bounces up and down 2-5 pounds. But you know you are stuck regardless of the type of weight loss program that you are on or how hard you try.


You start asking people at the gym like trainers, or google searches and you end up getting a whole bunch of dead answers that get you 0 results. None of them give you the real answer. The truth. You have reached a plateau because it is a hormonal response. Look back at the graph above. The bottom of each hill is a hormonal response which leads to a plateau.

Well you don’t go to work if you don’t receive a paycheck do you? Same thing here, you end up letting it go sooner or later and the weight creeps back up again. But because obesity is a time dependent problem, it takes a couple of years for you to get back to the top of the hill again, where you get pissed off, get motivated and then the same story all over again. To add assault to the injury, weight loss slows down and gets slower and slower every 5 years. It’s a nightmare that I have lived with my whole life and watched my family live through as well.

So what’s the issue? Why the inevitable plateau? I can help you understand a major part of the problem. We have been told that obesity is a calorie related issue. It seems that we have been misled. Take a look at the scientific research that I had found through some digging,

The study shows that there is no correlation between increase in BMI and increased caloric intake. The participants didn’t increase the calorie intake but they gained waist circumference and weight. The men actually decreased their calorie intake!!!

Here is another study that shows caloric intake decreased yet obesity increased.

The lies make my blood boil. All those years that I have spent being overweight is because the so-called professionals kept telling me that I need to “diet and exercise”. In the end, it is my responsibility. So, I fixed it. I solved it. I can help you do the same. It’s the hill I will die on!
